- Other infrastructure projects resulting in the payment of compensation for your land.
We are not only experienced in dealing with the legal complexity but we also understand and appreciate the emotional impact and inconvenience that such activities and projects can cause. We strive to deliver a unique legal service. We don’t just argue the law, we also argue that for you, the land is your life and joy. We strive to get the best outcome we can for you.
We act for numerous landholders impacted by resource projects. We are familiar with how resource companies negotiate and deal with landholders. We also know the laws and how to get the best outcome for you in negotiations.
We have dealt with large resource companies like Rio Tinto, QGC, Bandanna and Adani. We have a good track record of negotiating outcomes that our clients are happy with.
We also know what legislative reforms are being proposed and there impact on landholders. We have recently reviewed the Mineral and Energy Resources (Common Provisions) Bill 2014. We have written to local State members expressing our concerns about the impact this Bill will have on landholders if passed. In our opinion, the changes to the definitions of Restricted Land will be advantageous to resource companies and leave landholders substantially worse off in negotiations when compared to the present legislation. The bill intends to remove principal stockyards, dams and bores from being Restricted Land. These are key infrastructure which should be retained as Restricted Land.
