Rayarna is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia after completing a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at James Cook University. While Rayarna was born in Townsville she moved with her family to Sydney and finally returned to the Far North in 2006 where she started her own family and has been involved in volunteering within the Townsville community since the birth of her children. Rayarna has been a paralegal in the legal industry since 1995 and after completing her studies at university was appointed as the Associate to the Honourable Justice North of the Supreme Court of Queensland in Townsville for 12 months. Following this role Rayarna commenced practicing predominately in the area of family law. It is Rayarna’s wish to adopt a more collaborative / co-operative approach to family law which is not only in the best interests of the child but also in the best interests of the family unit as a whole. Rayarna believes that court intervention should be a last resort for families experiencing separation and divorce.
Rayarna is the member of and volunteers at:
- The Townsville & District Law Association, Committee Member;
- Queensland Law Society, Member;
- Family Law Practitioners Association, Member;
- The Queensland Collaborative Law Group, Member; and
- The North Queensland Women’s Legal Service, Volunteer Family Lawyer.
Rayarna has also completed collaborative family law training in 2016.
